There are some buildings (mostly cabins) on the east side toward <a href="ssr:220810" data-county="Møre og Romsdal" data-lat="62.71997" data-lng="8.11761" data-municipality="Molde" data-type="Vik i sjø">Breivika</a>, while the west side of the fjord—apart from the area around <a href="ssr:254287" data-county="Møre og Romsdal" data-lat="62.68768" data-lng="8.11677" data-municipality="Molde" data-type="Grend">Nauste</a> at the innermost part—is almost uninhabited. South of <a href="ssr:220810" data-county="Møre og Romsdal" data-lat="62.71997" data-lng="8.11761" data-municipality="Molde" data-type="Vik i sjø">Breivika</a>, the east side of the fjord is also desolate, and here the mountain formations become wilder and more rugged, plunging vertically into the sea in several places. <a href="ssr:133266" data-county="Møre og Romsdal" data-lat="62.70075" data-lng="8.11378" data-municipality="Molde" data-type="Nes i sjø">Store Hundneset</a> is a gently sloping, forested headland that stretches far into the fjord. <a href="ssr:132461" data-county="Møre og Romsdal" data-lat="62.72284" data-lng="8.07315" data-municipality="Molde" data-type="Fjord">Eresfjorden</a> is fairly clear and presents no difficulty for navigation.</p>
