<p>Gursken is the approximately 4 nautical mile long, narrow fjord that from Sandsfjorden cuts into Gurskøya between Gjørna on the N-side and Nupen on the S-side. The fjord is surrounded by high hills, and there is considerable settlement along the shores. There is little forest around the fjord; one sees occasional planted areas of pine and a bit of scattered deciduous forest. The fjord is generally clean, and the shoals that may be dangerous for navigation are marked with iron rods.<br />In the fjord, anchoring is possible where there is suitable depth, mud bottom, but the holding ground is less good.</p>

<p>Gursken er den ca 4 nautiske mil lange, smale fjorden som fra Sands-fjorden skjærer seg inn i Gurskøya mellom Gjøna på N-siden og Nupen på S-siden. Fjorden er omgitt av høye åser, og det er atskillig bebyggelse langs strendene. Det er lite skog rundt fjorden; man ser enkelte plantefelter av furu og litt spredt lauvskog. Fjorden er stort sett ren og de grunner som kan være farlige for seilasen, er merket med jernstenger.<br />I fjorden kan det ankres hvor det finnes passende dybde, sølebunn, men holdebunnen er mindre god.</p>
