<p>Sulafjorden, which cuts in between Sula and Hareidlandet from Breidsundet, is deep and clear. One must not approach closer to Eltraneset (the west point of Sula) than a couple of cable lengths to clear the west of Eltraskjeret and Eltranausen.<br />On Hareidlandet, the landscape consists of gentle mountains and hills with sparse vegetation. There is considerable settlement in the three coastal towns of Hjørungavåg, Hareid, and Brandal, as well as on the coastal strip from Hjørungavåg to Hareid.<br />On the west side of Sula, the terrain is steeper with some forest but little to no settlement. The only good, natural harbor in Sulafjorden is found in Hjørungavågen.</p>

<p>Sulafjorden, som skjærer seg inn mellom Sula og Hareidlandet fra Breidsundet, er dyp og ren. Man må ikke komme nærmere Eltraneset (W-pynten av Sula) enn et par kbl for å gå klar W om Eltraskjeret og Eltranausen.<br />På Hareidlandet er landskapet slake fjell og koller med sparsom vegetasjon. Det finnes atskillig bebyggelse i de tre strandstedene Hjørungavåg, Hareid og Brandal, samt på strandstripen fra Hjørungavåg til Hareid.<br />På W-siden av Sula er terrenget brattere med en del skog, men liten eller ingen bebyggelse. Eneste gode, naturlige havn i Sulafjorden finner man i Hjørungavågen.</p>
