<p>Just North of Ålesund, the Ellingsøyfjord extends with Nørvøya and Uksenøya on the South side and Ellingsøya on the North side. Along both sides of the fjord, there are several places that are treacherous and shallow. As elsewhere in the fjords, one is exposed to gusty winds from the mountains here.<br />Around the fjord, there are gentle, forested hills, and there are numerous farms along the shores in the outer part of the fjord, whereas it is more sparsely populated in the inner part.</p>

<p>Like N om Ålesund går Ellingsøyfjorden inn med Nørvøya og Uksenøya på S-siden og Ellingsøya på N-siden. Langs begge sidene av fjorden er det flere steder urent og grunt. Man er her som ellers i fjordene utsatt for kastevind fra fjellene.<br />Rundt fjorden strekker det seg slake, skogkledde åser, og det ligger atskillige garder langs strendene i den ytre delen av fjorden, i den indre delen er det mer grissgrendt.</p>
