<p>Osterfjorden and Sørfjorden refer to the waters surrounding the high Osterøy. The waters are clear and deep, able to accommodate large vessels. </p><p>The landscape is varied, ranging from small villages nestled in sheltered coves to steep mountain walls rising directly from the fjord. Despite the steep terrain, the slopes are often forested.</p><p>There are many large and small industrial enterprises, especially within furniture production, around the fjords.</p><p>There are several smaller watercourses in the district, and during heavy flood and rainy periods, the sea becomes muddy with fresh water. </p><p><span style="color: rgb(120, 144, 156);">The current conditions are variable, but with a marked transport of brackish water out in the spring and early summer. Noticeable eddies are formed where the fjords change direction around points and headlands.</span></p><p>The fjords are usually ice-free, but bays and inlets can still be ice-covered in the coldest season.</p>

Farvannet er rent og dypt og kan trafikkeres av store fartøyer. </p><p>Landskapet er skiftende, fra små bygder inne i lune bukter til bratte fjellvegger som stiger rett opp av fjorden.
