<p>In the narrow, shallow inlet <a data-county="Vestland" data-lat="60.06073" data-lng="5.22403" data-municipality="Austevoll" data-type="Sund i sjø" href="ssr:461654">Heiamarkstraumen</a> to <a data-county="Vestland" data-lat="60.05125" data-lng="5.22947" data-municipality="Austevoll" data-type="Våg i sjø" href="ssr:915161">Heiamarkpollen</a>, there can be very strong currents, reportedly up to 6–7 knots. The best time for passage is just before HW. The shallowest depth in the channel is 2.2 meters. The stone quay along the channel was historically used to pull boats through the current. The channel itself is somewhat unclean.</p>

Beste passeringstid er rett før HW. Minste dybde i løpet 2,2 m. Steinkaien langs løpet ble i gamle dager brukt for å dra båter gjennom strømmen. Selve løpet er noe urent.</p>
