<p>The city of Bodø is the seat of the county governor and county administration of Nordland county. </p><p>The city has a beautiful location with a magnificent view of the wild and high mountains in the Bodø area. From the heights around the city, on a clear day, one can see over the Vestfjord to the Lofoten wall.</p><p>The port of Bodø has the status of a central port and is well developed and protected. In Molobukta there are about 200 m of guest jettie, water and electricity. Service building with shower, toilet, and laundry. Open all year, for fishing and recreational boats. Dedicated harbor hostess from 25.6–15.8 who has a car equipped with VHF and mobile phone. For the rest of the year, contact the harbor office. The harbor office has a slipway at the service building.</p><h3>Sailing Information</h3><p>All approaches to Bodø are well marked.</p><p>Sailing through Nyholmsundet, to or from Bodø port, one should be cautious of the sharp turn south of Nyholmen.</p><p>From Røssøyleia and south over Saltfjorden, a white, well-visible sand shelf on the mountain on Fugløya is a good landmark for navigating between Mårnesskagen and Nordarnøya.</p><h3>Current and Tidal Conditions</h3><p>The mean difference between spring high tide and spring low tide is 236 cm. Bodø is a standard port in the Tide Tables, and information about tide sizes can be found there.</p>

Stor og verdenskjent lufthavn med betydelige innen- og utenlands trafikk. Byen har god bussforbindelse med landdistriktet.</p><p>Havnen er alltid isfri.</p><p>Bodø havn har status som sentralhavn.</p><p>Av industri kan nevnes: skipsverft, mindre mekaniske verksteder med slipp, notbøteri, fryseri, kjøleanlegg, sildoljefabrikk, sildefileteringsanlegg, bryggeri, margarinfabrikk, meieri mm. Byen eksporterer flere fiskeprodukter. Det importeres olje, koks, kull, salt, sement mm.</p><p>Her er hovedrednings-, kystradio-, kringkastings- og tollstasjon, sentralsykehus, politi og for øvrig alle de organer som er vanlig for en by av denne størrelse.</p><p>Følgende land har konsulat i byen: Danmark, Finland, Island, Nederland, Sverige og Tyskland.</p><p>Havnen er godt utbygget og beskyttet. Inne i Molobukta er det ca 200 m med gjestebrygger, vann og strøm. Servicebygg med dusj, toalett og vasketeria. Åpent hele året, for fiske og fritidsbåter. Egen havnevertinne 25.6–15.8 som disponerer bil med VHF og mob tlf. Resten av året henvendelse havnevesnet. Havnevesnet har slipp ved servicebygget.</p><h3>Seilingsinformasjon</h3><p>Alle innseilingene til Bodø er godt oppmerket.</p><p>Går man Nyholmsundet, til eller fra Bodø havn, skal man være oppmerksom på den skarpe svingen S om Nyholmen.</p><p>Fra Røssøyleia og S-over Saltfjorden er et hvitt, godt synlig, sandras i fjellet på Fugløya et godt styremerke for å gå inn mellom Mårnesskagen og Nordarnøya.</p><h3>Strøm og tidevannsforhold</h3><p>Midlere forskjell mellom spring høyvann og spring lavvann er 236 cm. <p>Vessels that have not been assigned anchorage or mooring space can anchor in the harbor, but must stay well clear of the entrance, piers, etc.</p><p>In the inner harbor, there is good holding ground east of the shipyard, poorer further north, loose mud.</p><p>Ships of 3000 registered tons and over, if they are not to load or unload in the port, must anchor in the outer harbor (minimum 0.3 n miles southwest of the breakwater). Mooring bolts on Burøya and 2 mooring buoys. The inner part of Molobukta is dredged for use by small boats.</p><p>Free area with a floating dock on the east side of Skipsholmen.
