<p>Mo i Rana is the municipal center for the municipality of Rana. The town experienced rapid development in the years following the establishment of the Ironworks. In 1988, the Ironworks were closed down, and the area was converted into Mo Industrial Park, including the establishment of the Ferro Companies.</p><p>From Mo, iron ore, steel, ferrochrome, and ferrosilicon are exported. Raw materials for the Ironworks and the Ferro Companies are imported.</p><p>In addition to municipal services, there are shops, banks, hotels, inns, and restaurants.</p><p>The town has a harbor master, police and customs office, a large hospital, a pharmacy, and all other facilities commonly found in a town of this size.</p><p>The Nordland Railway passes through the town. Mo has a small airfield.</p><p>The harbor pilot replaces the sea pilot at Haukneset.</p>

Mo har småflyplass.</p><p>Havnelos avløser sjølosen ved Haukneset.</p>
