<p>The town is connected to the national road network and has bus connectivity with Snartemo station on the Sørlandsbanen, Kristiansand (95 km), Mandal (49 km), Flekkefjord (80 km), as well as the surrounding districts. Coastal cargo routes call at the town.</p>
<p>In Farsund, there is a post office, a hospital, and several doctors in town. The port has an open storage area.</p>

<p>The port has good anchorage spots.</p>
<p>In the harbor itself in Farsund, smaller vessels can anchor, but one must be aware of the submarine cable between Farøy and Engøy! Large ships will find anchorage at Skarvøyflaket East of Langøy.</p>
<p>East of Engøy, large vessels can anchor in about 55 m depth, clay bottom.<br />
Anchorage is also possible southward from Gåsholmen down to Skjolnesodden.<br />
The best holding ground is right off Lundevågen, mud bottom, but one must keep well clear of the moorings for the floating jetty for small boats on the north side.<br />
Within Sundsodden, there is a mud bottom mixed with a stone bottom.</p>

<p>Havna har gode ankerplasser.</p>
<p>Inne på selve havna i Farsund kan mindre fartøyer ankre, men man må være oppmerksom på sjøkabelen mellom Farøy og Engøy! Store skip finner ankerplass på Skarvøyfla et E for Langøy.</p>
<p>E for Engøy kan store fartøyer ankre på ca 55 m dybde, leirbunn.<br />
Det kan også ankres S-over fra Gåsholmen helt ned til Skjolnesodden.<br />
Den beste holdebunnen er rett ut for Lundevågen, sølebunn, men man må holde godt klar fortøyningene til flytebryggene for småbåthava på N-siden.<br />
Innenfor Sundsodden er det sølebunn blandet med steinbunn.</p>
