<h3>Restrictions</h3>
<p>The old canal system on the E side of <a data-county="Rogaland" data-lat="59.43209" data-lng="5.61327" data-municipality="Tysvær" data-type="Bygdelag (bygd)" href="ssr:85848">Skjoldastraumen</a> is only for small boats, as 2 bridges have been built over the stream, with a clearance of 2.5 m. Depth in the canal is 2.3 m. One must stay along the eastern shore due to sandbanks from the western shore.</p>
<h3>Current and Tidal Conditions</h3>
<p>It is not difficult to enter the lock from the S due to the direction of the current. If entering the lock from the N, one must pay close attention to the current, especially when it flows N. The current from the eastern channel can easily push the vessel towards the western shore. If the current is too strong, one should wait before locking.</p>

<li>Skjoldastraumen og Straumen Båtlag, 35,5 + 12 m vinkelkai av tre, dybder fra S 1,2-1,7-1,2 m og fra E 1,2-1,5 m. Gjestebrygge, strøm.</li>
<li>Vente-/handlekai, 20 m trekai, dybder fra S 1,4-0,8-1,0 m.</li>

<h3>Restriksjoner</h3>
<p>Det gamle kanalsystemet på E-siden av <a data-county="Rogaland" data-lat="59.43209" data-lng="5.61327" data-municipality="Tysvær" data-type="Bygdelag (bygd)" href="ssr:85848">Skjoldastraumen</a> er bare for småbåter, da det er bygd 2 bruer over strømmen, fri høyde 2,5 m. Dybde i kanalen 2,3 m. Man må holde langs østre land da grunnflak fra vestre land.</p>
<h3>Strøm og tidevannsforhold</h3>
<p>Det er ikke vanskelig å gå inn i slusen fra S på grunn av strømmens retning. Skal man entre slusen fra N, må man gi nøye akt på strømmen, særlig når den går N. Strømmen fra østre løpet kan lett sette fartøyet ned på vestre land. Er strømmen for sterk, bør man vente med slusingen.</p>
