<p>Holmestrand city is divided into a city center by the sea and several residential areas up in the mountains. In the city center below the mountain, there are 2 industrial facilities; Nordisk Aluminiumsindustri A/S and Statens Kornsilo. There is also some industry up in the mountains.<br />The city has good communication both by sea and land, with the Vestfold Railway Line and E-18 passing through the city. Daily bus and goods transportation to the inland.<br />Several small workshops that can perform minor repairs for ships can also be found in Holmestrand.<br />Here you will find several shops, a bank, a fjord hotel, a post office, a tourist office, a pharmacy, and the city has several doctors. <br />There is no sea fire pump in the harbor, but a fire truck with a motor pump and suction hose from the sea can assist if necessary.</p>

<p>Holmestrand by er oppdelt i en bykjerne ved sjøen og flere byggefelt oppe på fjellet. I bykjernen under fjellet finnes 2 industrianlegg; Nordisk Aluminiumsindustri A/S og Statens Kornsilo. Oppe på fjellet finnes det også en del industri.<br />Byen har gode kommunikasjoner både sjø‑ og landverts, Vestfoldbanen og E‑18 passerer byen. <p>Stor og flott gjestehavn.<br />Gjestebrygge, 152 m ufendret trebrygge, dybder fra N 4,5-4,8-4,7-3,1-3,3-0,8-1,1 m.
