<p>Fedje comprises about 125 islands and islets. The main island, with an area over 7.5 km<sub>2</sub>, has Fedjebjørnen, 42 m, as its highest point. The place has a post office, bank branch, guesthouse, shops, freezer, bait storage, and canning factory.</p><p>Feie Traffic Central, which directs traffic in the area, especially to Mongstad and Sture Terminal, is located here.</p><h3>Navigational Information</h3><p>A well-marked channel SW of Moldøyna leads to the village of Fedje. Due to frequent traffic of fishing boats, vessels seeking harbor here should proceed into Vestre Vågen.</p><p>The harbor is well marked with iron poles, and a mooring platform with mooring rings is placed in the middle of the harbor.</p><p>Fedje maritime traffic center was established in 1992 and monitors tanker transport to and from Sture and Mongstad terminals, and supervises and regulates ship traffic to and from Bergen. From there, a straight line to Grisholmeskjeret cairn and further a straight line from the cairn to the highest point of Hesthaugen. Violation of the prohibition is punishable.</p>

<h3>Seilingsinformasjon</h3>
<p>Inn til tettstedet Fedje fører et godt oppmerket løp SW av Moldøyna. Da det ofte er stor trafikk av fiskebåter, bør fartøyer som søker havn her, trekke innover i Vestre Vågen.</p>
<p>Havnen er godt oppmerket med jernstenger, pelebukk med fortøyningsringer er anbrakt midt i havnen. </p>
<p>Fedje sjøtrafikksentral ble etablert i 1992 og følger tankskiptransport til og fra Sture og Mongstad-terminalene, og overvåker og regulerer skipstrafikken til og fra Bergen. Sjøtrafikksentralen dekker området fra Sognesjøen i nord til farvannet ved Marstein i sør, og avgrenses i øst mot Bergen Havn og mot Grimstadfjorden ved Haakonsvern Orlogsstasjon.</p>
<h3>Restriksjoner</h3>
<p>Fiskeridepartementet har bestemt at det på E- og NE-siden av Fedje er forbudt å kaste ut fiskeavfall, herunder størjeavfall, innenfor et område som begrenses av en rett linje fra Fedje lykt til et punkt 3 kbl (555 m) rettvisende E av lykten. Derfra en rett linje til Grisholmeskjeret varde og videre en rett linje fra varden til høyeste punktet av Hesthaugen. Overtredelse av forbudet er straffbart.</p>
