The place is a popular summer holiday destination. Drøbak is centrally located on the eastern side of the <a data-county="Vestfold og Telemark" data-lat="59.21497" data-lng="10.63634" data-municipality="Moss" data-type="Fjord" href="ssr:365030">Oslofjord</a>, 38 km from Oslo and 9 km from the E6 highway. There are bus connections to Oslo, Nesodden, Ås, Vestby.</p>
<p>Here are hotels, doctors, banks, and a post office.</p>
<p>A little north of the harbor lies the "Biologen", the University's biological research station, as well as the bathing park with a nice swimming area and outdoor stage.</p>
<h3>Sailing Information</h3>
<p>Due to the wind conditions in the Drøbak strait (the sea breeze) and the heavy boat traffic in the Oslofjord, all piers outside the breakwater in Drøbak can be unstable/exposed at times.</p>
