<p>Molde is today a city municipality and is a regional center for the middle part of the county. The city has good communications, both to the nearest districts and to the rest of the country and abroad. Molde Airport, Årø, about 6 km from the center, has several daily connections with Norwegian domestic flights. There are bus routes to the districts, to Ålesund, Kristiansund, Trondheim, and to Åndalsnes to correspond with the railway. Molde is connected to the national road network with several options. Molde harbor is served by the Hurtigruten, coastal freight routes, North Sea, and Baltic Sea lines, and the express boat Molde-Ålesund (seasonal).<br> Among industrial facilities in the city can be mentioned lighting fixture factories, motor, and propeller plants. The city has a large hospital and medical center.</p>
<h3>Guest Harbor</h3>
<p>Reknes guest harbor: 75m floating dock/wave damper, 46m floating dock, 104 + 43 + 32m wooden piers. Electricity and water. Service building with shower, toilet, washing machine, and dryer. Gas station right above the guest harbor.<br>Molde Boatharbor Association, large boatharbor with guest places. Marina with water, gasoline, and diesel filling.</p>
<h3>Sailing Information</h3>
<p>The harbor is ice-free. The current in the harbor is barely noticeable, but wind from SE through S to SW can be bothersome and create some waves. The harbor basin is bordered to the west by a 140-meter-long breakwater for protection against west winds and waves.<br> During the approach to the harbor from the west, you can either go north or south of Mekgrunna.</p>
<h3>Ship Traffic</h3>
<p>In the tourist season during summer, Molde frequently receives visits from larger cruise ships. These moor at Storkaia with the mooring lines at Rekneskaia. This means that Rekneskaia and the inside of Storkaia may be closed.</p>

<h3>Gjestehavn</h3>
<p>Reknes gjestehamn: 75 m flytebrygge/bølgedempe, 46 m flytebrygge, 104 + 43 + 32 m trekaier. Strøm og vann. Servicebygg med dusj, toalett, vaskemaskin og tørketrommel. Bensinstasjon rett opp for bryggene.</p>
<p>Molde Båthavnlag, stor båthavn med gjesteplasser. Marina med vann-, bensin- og dieselfylling. </p>
<h3>Seilingsinformasjon</h3>
<p>Havna er isfri. Strømmen i havna er lite merkbar, men vind fra SE gjennom S til SW kan være sjenerende og sette opp en del sjø. Havnebassenget er avgrenset i vest av 140 meter lang molo til beskyttelse mot vestlig vind og sjø.<br>Under innseilingen til havna fra vest, kan man enten gå nord eller syd om Mekgrunna.</p>
<h3>Skipstrafikk</h3>
<p>I turistsesongen om sommeren har Molde hyppige besøk av større turistskip. Disse fortøyer ved Storkaia med trossene i Rekneskaia. Dette medfører at Rekneskaia og innsiden av Storkaia kan bli stengt.</p>
