<p>The village of Sykkylven is the central locality in the fjord with urban development and serves as the center for Sykkylven municipality. The place has shops of all kinds, postal services within a store, banks, a hotel, a camping site with cabins, doctors, dentists, and a mechanical workshop. There are several large and small industrial plants in the area. Especially notable is the significant furniture production.</p>
<p>Public quay, poorly maintained, unfendered angled concrete quay. Westerly wind strikes the quay heavily.</p>
<h3>Guest Harbour</h3>
<p>The small boat harbour with a 130 m guest jetty. Electricity, water, and diesel filling available. Service building.</p>

<p>Strandstedet Sykkylven er det sentrale stedet i fjorden med bymessig bebyggelse og sentrum for Sykkylven kommune. Stedet har forretninger av alle slag, post i butikk, banker, hotell, campingplass med hytter, leger, tannleger og mekanisk verksted. Det er en rekke større og mindre industrianlegg på stedet. Spesielt møbelproduksjonen er stor.</p>
<p>Allmenningskai, dårlig, ufendret vinkelkai av betong. W-Iig vind står tungt mot kaia.</p>
<h3>Gjestehavn</h3>
<p>Småbåthavna med 130 m gjestebrygge, dybder 1,6-2,1 m. Strøm,<br />vann- og dieselfylling. Servicebygg.</p>
