<p>Odda is the administrative center of the municipality. Apart from the municipal offices, there is a hospital, medical center, and several dentists. There are elementary, middle, and high schools, a sports hall, a swimming pool, police, banks, a travel agency, a pharmacy, hotels, guesthouses, a cinema, a seamen's center, a mechanical workshop, a plastics industry, an electronics company, an industrial museum, a customs office, a shipbroker, and shops of all kinds.</p>

<h3>Guest Harbor</h3>
<p>Guest jetty, 30 m concrete floating jetty. Slipway for small boats. Service building with, among other things, a laundry room, shower, and toilet by the guest pier.</p>
<h3>Sailing Information</h3>
<p>In spring and early summer, the brackish water can be noticed, hindering maneuvering to and from the dock. At Djupevik, a sludge line is laid out, which is marked with a light buoy at its mouth.</p>
anchorage: <p>Outside Odda, vessels can anchor on the W side of the bay, mud bottom. Be aware of sea cables and water pipes! Usually, the ice does not get thicker than the daily route traffic can keep a passage open, and it very rarely extends further out than Eitrheim. Generally, the ice will be thinnest along the eastern shore due to the outlets from the power plant in Tyssedal and the river in Odda. NW and SE winds can blow well into the bay.</p>

<p>Vår og forsommer merkes brakkvannet som kan sjenere manøvrering til og fra kai. Ved Djupevik er det lagt ut slamledning, som ved munningen er<br />merket med lysbøye.</p>

<p>Utenfor Odda kan fartøyer ankre på W‑siden av bukta, leirbunn. Vær oppmerksom på sjøkabler og vannledninger! Vanligvis blir ikke isen tykkere enn at den daglige rutetrafik en greier å holde åpen råk, og den ligger svært sjelden lengre ut enn til Eitrheim. Som regel vil isen være tynnest langs østre land grunnet utløpene fra kraftverket i Tyssedal og elven i Odda. NW‑ samt SE‑lig vind kan ta godt inne på bukta.</p>
