<p>The city of Grimstad, on the W side of Grosfjorden, is a popular vacation destination in the summer, and the population almost doubles during this time.<br />Notable industries include canning factories, fruits and vegetables (agriculture), boat building, plastics, and mechanical industries. Exports mainly consist of canned goods, plastic boats, and offshore modules.<br />The city has a connection to the Sørlandsbanen via Arendal. There is a bus connection to Arendal/Oslo and Kristiansand/Stavanger several times a day.<br />There is an honorary consul for Finland.<br />Grimstad has a commercial port to accommodate commercial ship traffic. Please refer to the municipality's website for port regulations and contact persons.</p>
<h3>Sailing Information</h3>
<p>There is no significant current in the harbor, which is generally ice-free in winter. In especially severe winters, the harbor can freeze for short periods, but a channel will be kept open.</p>

<p>Grimstad by, på W-siden av Grosfjorden, er et yndet feriested om sommeren, og befolkningen øker da nesten til det dobbelte.<br />Av industri kan nevnes, konservesfabrikk, frukt og grønnsaker (jordbruk), båtbyggeri, plast og mekanisk.
