        "description_en":"<p>The area between S&oslash;rgattet and Norsk&oslash;yane is known as &laquo;NW&nbsp;corner&raquo; in the vernacular, and it is a fact that it is the only part&nbsp;of <a href=\"586988\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Svalbard</a> that can be regarded as an archipelago.</p>\n<p>Vessels on the way northwards and are too large to use S&oslash;rgattet, must round &laquo;The NW Corner&raquo; at a good distance. With <em>the most westerly summit of Nissenfjella</em> (south of Femtebreen)<em>&nbsp;touching the outermost point on Hoelhalv&oslash;ya</em>, vessels are&nbsp;clear west of Magdaleneb&aring;en, 6 m, and the 9 m underwater rock west of&nbsp;Harpunodden&nbsp;on Dansk&oslash;ya. Another line to keep clear west of&nbsp;the same 9 m underwater rocks is <em>Astrupneset visible outside the point near&nbsp;Bikuben</em> (west side of Amsterdam&oslash;ya).</p>\n<p>The water is shallow along the west side of Dansk&oslash;ya up to 0.5 NM from the shore. The two rocks awash, Lyngaassteinane, 1.2 NM west of Har&aring;unodden, can also be passed on the inner side by keeping relatively close up to the rocks awash.</p>\n<p>Kobbefjorden, on the west side of Dansk&oslash;ya, is about 2 NM long and 1 NM wide outermost. Vessels&nbsp;should preferably enter the fjord along the north shore, as there&nbsp;are two underwater rocks midway off the mouth of the fjord, and it is also&nbsp;foul off the southern ness in the fjord mouth.&nbsp;The little, low islet of Postholmen lies within the fjord.</p>\n<p>Innermost in Kobbefjorden there is a deep basin with 20-28&nbsp;m depth, but vessels&nbsp;must pass a 4 m deep reef before entering.</p>\n<p>The 20 m contour lies close into Ytterholmane,&nbsp;west of&nbsp;Amsterdam&oslash;ya, and vessels&nbsp;can keep close to the islets when&nbsp;passing on the west side. There is a least depth of 12 m in the&nbsp;middle of the channel&nbsp;between the islets and Amsterdam&oslash;ya.</p>\n<p>From the north point of Amsterdam&oslash;ya, Hakluytodden, a moraine ridge runs in a large arc northwards and then southeastwards in towards Fuglesongen island. The depths vary, but are largely less than 30-40 m, and with the shallowest part of 12 m laying 278&deg; - 3.5 NM from the north point of Fuglesongen. There is a 7 m underwater rock about 8 cables north-northwest of the north point of Fuglesongen.</p>\n<p>The islet Risen (79&deg; 53.0' N 11&deg; 29.0' E) is located about 1 NM north of Klovningen, with Kobbskjera 2 NM further northeast. Shoal ridges extends from both Risen and Kobbskjera towards Klovningen and Ytre Norsk&oslash;ya</p>",

Et annet med&nbsp;for &aring; g&aring; klar W av de samme 9 m grunnene er <em>Astrupneset synlig&nbsp;utenfor odden ved Bikuben</em> (Amsterdam&oslash;ya W-side).</p>\n<p>Langs W-siden av Dansk&oslash;ya er det grunt farvann inntil 0.5 n&nbsp;mil av land. To skvalpeskj&aelig;r, Lyngaassteinane, 1.2 n mil W av&nbsp;Harpunodden kan ogs&aring; passeres p&aring; innsiden, idet man holder&nbsp;relativt n&aelig;r opp til skvalpeskj&aelig;rene.</p>\n<p>Kobbefjorden p&aring; W-siden av Dansk&oslash;ya er ca. 2 n mil lang og 1 n mil bred ytterst. Det b&oslash;r fortrinnsvis s&oslash;kes inn i fjorden langs nordre land, da det ligger to 5 m grunner midt utenfor fjordmunningen og det er ogs&aring; urent utenfor s&oslash;ndre neset i fjordmunningen. Inne i fjorden ligger en liten lav holme, Postholmen.</p>\n<p>Innerst i Kobbefjorden kommer man til et dypt basseng med 20 - 28 m dybde, men man m&aring; passere et 4 m dypt rev for &aring;&nbsp;komme inn.</p>\n<p>20 m kurven g&aring;r n&aelig;r inntil Ytterholmane, W for Amsterdam&oslash;ya,&nbsp;og man kan holde n&aelig;r holmene ved passering p&aring;&nbsp;W-siden. Mellom holmene og Amsterdam&oslash;ya vil man midt i&nbsp;l&oslash;pet ha en minste dybde p&aring; 12 m.</p>\n<p>Fra N-spissen av Amsterdam&oslash;ya, Hakluytodden, g&aring;r det en&nbsp;morenerygg i en stor bue N-over og videre SE-over inn mot &oslash;ya&nbsp;Fuglesongen. Dybdene varierer, men holder seg stort sett under&nbsp;30-40m, og med grunneste topp 10.4 m som ligger i 278&deg; - 3.5 n&nbsp;mil fra N-spissen av Fuglesongen.</p>\n<p>Ca. 1 n mil N av Klovningen ligger holmen Risen, (79&deg; 53,0&rsquo; N, 11&deg; 29,0&rsquo; E) med Kobbskjera 2 n mil NE av denne igjen. Fra b&aring;de Risen og Kobbskjera strekker det seg grunnrygger inn mot henholdsvis Klovningen og Ytre Norsk&oslash;ya.</p>",

Navigation in these waters must be exercised with extreme caution.</p>\n<h3>Front of glaciers</h3>\n<p>Limits of glaciers are subject to frequent change. In front of glaciers going into the sea, there are major &nbsp;variations from year to year, and depths are uncertain. Such areas must be considered as unsurveyed. Such &nbsp;conditions must be taken into account when navigating in these waters and caution exercised.</p>",

Foran breer som munner ut i sj&oslash;en forekommer store variasjoner fra &aring;r til &aring;r, og dybdeforholdene er usikre. Slike omr&aring;der m&aring; betraktes som ikke sj&oslash;m&aring;lte. Disse forholdene m&aring; tas i betraktning ved navigasjon, og forsiktighet m&aring; utvises.</p>"
