Off the coast, between Brufjellet and Knappane, the Siragrunnen bank stretches out from the land to a distance of about 3 nautical miles.

When sailing in the area, it is often advantageous to sail further out and in deeper water, to avoid the worst currents. One should pass to the south of the entire Siragrunnen with Listaskaret closed, and is clear to the west of the bank with \u00d8rslandsknuten over Ved\u00e5sen (the light at Litle Prestskjeret lighthouse at true bearing 024\u00b0).

Utenfor kysten, mellom Brufjellet og Knappane, strekker Siragrunnen seg ut fra landet til en avstand av ca 3 nautiske mil.

Ved seilas i området, vil det ofte være en fordel å seile lengre ute og på større dyp, for å unngå den værste strømsjøen. Man går S om hele Siragrunnen med Listaskaret lukket, og er fri W om grunnen med \u00d8rslandsknuten \u00d8rslandsknuten over Vedåsen (lykten på Litle Prestskjeret fyr i rettvisende 024°).
