Griphølen is the body of water between Grip and Inngripan to the south, and the Smøla skerries to the north, leading into the Kristiansundsleia (Channel), or Ytrefjorden as the eastern part of the channel is called. The landmark for the approach is Grip fyr (Lighthouse). The leading mark for the entrance is Sinnsetten (Tustna) in Austre Tussen. Larger vessels must use this channel when approaching from the sea.
