Igerøya is an island in Vega Municipality, located on the northeast side of the island of Vega. The Igerøya ferry terminal is situated at Åburdholmen on the eastern side of the island, and there is both a bridge and road connection to Vega. There is a ferry connection eastward via Ylvingen and to the mainland. The distance to the centre of Vega is approximately 12 km.
\nVega is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. On Gardsøya, in the northern part of Vega, you will find a World Heritage Centre that shows how the cultural landscape in the area has been shaped through centuries of interaction between people and nature. Particular emphasis is placed on the unique eider duck and down\u2011harvesting tradition. The distance from the ferry terminal to the Vega World Heritage Centre is approximately 17 km.
