Vennesund is a small settlement in Sømna municipality, Nordland, situated on the southern tip of the Sømna peninsula at the mouth of Bindalsfjorden.
\nAt the northern end of Vennesundet, between Kvaløya and the mainland, a road embankment crosses the sound. A narrow passage for small craft is provided through the embankment, with a charted air draught of only 1.8 m, limiting access to low\u2011profile vessels.
\nSouth of the embankment, on the eastern shore, lies the ferry terminal. The minimum depth on the approach to the ferry berth is 5\u202fm.

There is no municipal small\u2011craft harbour or official guest harbour in Vennesund. However, the Camping, located adjacent to the ferry area, provides maritime services for visiting leisure craft, including rorbu accommodation, a service building, pontoon berths, boat rental and fishing facilities.
